Ryan Thomas comes to Ashford via Western Illinois University where he completed his undergraduate and graduate degree while gaining experience in sports information and multimedia.
Thomas assists the office in all communications efforts within the athletic department. He specializes in video/audio broadcasting along with coordinating the Saints' YouTube athletic channel.
Thomas worked as the communications intern at Indiana Sports Corporation in Indianapolis where he assisted in the company's day-to-day communications functions. He also worked in the media relations field for the 2011 Big Ten Conference men's and women's basketball tournaments and the 2011 NCAA Women's Final Four.
During his time working in the Western Illinois athletic media services office, Thomas served as the primary contact for the Leatherneck cross country teams during the 2010 season. Thomas also assisted in game day and stat crew operations for Leatherneck football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and men's and women's soccer.
While pursuing his bachelor's degree, Thomas served as the voice of Leatherneck women's basketball from 2007-09, earning Best Play-By-Play honors for those two seasons. During his time working for the campus radio station, Thomas also called games for Leatherneck baseball, softball and men's basketball.
He also served as a sports anchor for the campus television station.
Thomas is a graduate of Western Illinois University, where he completed his Masters of Science degree in Sport Management in 2011, as well as his Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting in 2008. Thomas currently resides in Clinton.
