

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - The Midwest Collegiate Conference handed out its weekly awards Monday afternoon and one Ashford University men's track and field student-athlete landed among the six recognized by the league. Senior Austin Smith, a Port Byron, Ill.-native, was named the league's Men's Track and Field Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after his high jump performance over the weekend.

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Ashford University men's indoor track and field team used the final Saturday (Feb. 4) before the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships to compete in the 2012 Dr. Jim Green Invitational. The Saints saw a school record fall while three more members of the squad surpassed NAIA "B" qualifications for the NAIA Indoor Championships scheduled for next month.

CLINTON, Iowa - The 2012-13 commitment class for men's track and field student-athletes began this afternoon when Assistant Men's Track and Field Coach Tyson Graham announced the signing of Ian Rixon to the squad this coming fall.

MANKATO, Minn. - A week removed from winning the team championship at the Illinois College Snowbird Open, the Ashford University men's indoor track and field team returned to action by competing in the 2012 MSU Maverick Open on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27-28. The meet was held inside Myers Fieldhouse on the campus of Minnesota State University.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - For the second consecutive week, the Midwest Collegiate Conference has honored an Ashford University Saint with a men's indoor track and field Athlete of the Week award. Freshman sprinter Justin Kilpatrick earned MCC Runner of the Week status on Monday, when the weekly conference awards were handed out.
