

MARION, Ind. – The final showing for any Ashford University athletic program during the 2012-13 athletic year occurred over the weekend when members of the men's and women's track and field teams competed at the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The event was hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released its 2013 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards for track and field on Friday afternoon. A total of 517 male and female student-athletes from across the nation were named to the field, including a quartet of Saints.
Senior Christian Awah was the lone recipient from the Ashford men's team, while juniors Haley Fischer, Samantha Gatewood and Annie Chezem earned spots on the women's list. Recipients were released prior to day two of the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

Qualifiers by School: Men || Women
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the official qualifiers for the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Four Saints have been included in the meet, which begins this Thursday, May. 23 and concludes on Saturday, May 25. The event is being hosted in Marion, Ind. by Indiana Wesleyan University.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Ashford University outdoor track and field regular season came to a close on Thursday & Friday, May 9-10, when the teams visited the Jay and Dot Buikema Track for the 2013 Dr. Keeler Invitational, hosted by North Central College.
No team scores were kept during the meet, which served as a last chance qualifier for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships coming up in two weeks. A pair of school records which have been under attack all season long were lowered once again during the meet but no additional AU names were added to the national qualifier list.

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Three Ashford University school records fell in the second-to-last regular season outing of the season for the Ashford University track & field teams on Saturday.
The Saints visited Monmouth College for the 2013 Fighting Scot Open where they competed well, earning six third-place efforts and 11 top-five finishes total. No team scores were kept at the event.
