CHICAGO - Ashford's senior guard Jason Landry is nominated for the "Dark Horse Dunker" competition, Intersport announced today. "Dark Horse Dunker" nominees are under-the-radar players who have what it takes to compete against the D-I field in New Orleans. The winner will participate in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in New Orleans March 29 on ESPN. Sixteen dunkers have been selected to compete in the "Dark Horse Dunker" Facebook bracket which is a four-week knockout competition. Fans will determine the winner by voting during each round at the official Facebook page (Facebook.com/collegeslam).

The Saints held a 32-26 lead at halftime, but fell in double overtime to the Crusaders of Clarke University, 85-80, in Midwest Collegiate Conference action.

That all ended when the Saints pulled out a hotly contested 72-70 home victory over the Mustangs, improving the squad to 17-8 overall and 9-4 in Midwest Collegiate Conference action.

CLINTON, Iowa - After dropping two straight, the Ashford University men's basketball team got back on the winning track Thursday night when it hosted the Eagles of AIB in Midwest Collegiate Conference play. The Saints expanded their 16-point halftime lead en route to a 76-54 victory over the visiting Eagles to move to 15-8 overall this season and 7-4 in MCC action.
