TOWSON, Md. – Senior forward Vesteinn Sveinsson has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The College Division men's basketball teams are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four Ashford University basketball student-athletes were honored by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on Monday.

Women's basketball players Kendra Forristall and Jennifer Forge, along with men's representatives Vesteinn Sveinsson and Mitch Jankowski, all received Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition for the 2013 winter season.

CLINTON – Sophomore guard DeAndre Lowery Jr. and senior forward Vesteinn Sveinsson were named First and Second Team All-Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.), respectively, the league announced late Tuesday afternoon.

A total of 20 student-athletes landed on the award list, ten on each team.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The 2012-13 season came to an end Friday night for the Ashford University men's basketball team.

The fourth-seeded Saints fell victim to a raucous home crowd and fifth-seeded Jamestown College, 54-50, inside the Jamestown Civic Center in an Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Men's Basketball Tournament opening round clash.

Men's basketball student-athlete, Joe Lightfoot III, earned the honor Monday afternoon, when the league announced its weekly awards.
