CLINTON – A pair of Ashford University track and field head to Geneva, Ohio this week for the 2014 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, held at the SPIRE Institute.
Juniors Mike Malone and Nichole Johnson make up Ashford's representation at the three-day event that begins on Thursday, Mar. 6, competing in one event each.
WAVERLY, Iowa – The regular season came to a close for the Ashford University indoor track and field team on Saturday (Feb. 22), when the AU men competed in the Wartburg Indoor Invitational.
Taking part in only five events, the Saints still saw plenty of success with three event wins and one runner-up finish, earning 40 points and a fourth place finish.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – With the indoor season winding down, the Ashford University track and field teams competed at the Augustana College Triangular on Thursday (Feb. 20) evening, along with host Augustana and St. Ambrose University.
It was another successful outing for the Saints, as the teams combined to set four new indoor program records and bring home a combined eight event titles. In addition, juniors Mike Malone and Nichole Johnson reach NAIA "A" level qualifying in one event each.
MONMOUTH, Ill. – On Saturday (Feb. 15) afternoon, the Ashford men's and women's indoor track and field teams took on one of the largest fields of the season at the Fighting Scot Invitational, hosted by Monmouth College.
Three men's indoor program records fell on Saturday as the Saints recorded six top-ten finishes at the meet. No team scores were kept.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After entering and winning five events at the St. Ambrose Fighting Bee Invitational last weekend, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) named Ashford University junior Mike Malone as the this week's Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. The honor was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
