HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Ashford University tennis teams got back to work on Monday morning, opening their spring break trip with matches against the Oilers of Findlay University (Ohio).
But the week-long trip out east opened on a sour note as the Ashford women dropped their second consecutive duel, 5-4, while the men suffered a 9-0 blanking.
CLINTON – The Ashford University men's and women's tennis teams played their final home meets before spring break on Friday (Feb. 28) morning, welcoming the Hawks of Quincy University (Ill.) to the Ashford University Indoor Tennis Center.
The AU men improved to 3-0 in the spring with a 5-3 win over the Hawks, while the women suffered their first defeat, 5-4, to fall to 3-1 on the 2014 campaign.

Both teams remained perfect in the spring, notching a pair of thrilling 5-4 wins over the Bulldogs to improve to 2-0 in 2014.

Under the direction of head coach Chad Fenwick, the Saints return a mixture of program mainstays and talented newcomers on both squads. After a fall season that saw four doubles teams and three individuals crack the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Rankings for the first time in school history.
