BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Ashford University volleyball hit the floor on Friday, Aug. 29, for day one of the Bruin Labor Day Classic, hosted by Bellevue University (Neb.).
In the morning session, the Saints cruised to a straight-set victory over (RV) College of the Ozarks (Mo.) before dropping the afternoon session to Jamestown College (N.D.) in four games.
LACROSSE, Wis. – The Ashford University volleyball team had upset on their mind Tuesday (Aug. 26) night as they looked to remain perfect in 2014 against the #15-ranked V-Hawks of Viterbo University.
The Saints grabbed the early advantage with a 25-23 win in the first set, but the hosts responded by taking the next three sets with ease, handing Ashford (3-1) their first loss of the year.

Ashford was victorious in all six they played inside Hennessey Recreation Center on Friday afternoon, sweeping Hannibal-LaGrange University (25-14, 25-13, 25-16) in the opener before coasting to a win over Robert Morris (25-11, 25-13, 25-16) in the night cap
CLINTON – Last November, the Ashford University volleyball team came closer than any in program history to securing a bid to the NAIA National Championship. That alone has been more than enough motivation for this year's group of Saints to make 2014 one they hope fans will remember for years to come.
The Saints finished 24-16 last season and didn't drop a set on their way to the 2013 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) conference championship game, where they would fall in four tightly contested sets to Cal State San Marcos.
