

VICTORIA, Texas – With their season on the line, the Ashford University softball team took to the diamond on day two of the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament on Thursday morning. Standing in the Saints' way was the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, who were also looking to keep their season alive.
On a wet and windy day, the Saints saw their 2013 season come to an end, falling to the Thunderbirds, 11-0.

VICTORIA, Texas – On the eve of the 2013 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament, the Ashford softball team learned that six members had earned spots on the all-conference squads.
Catcher Shelby Hobelman, outfielder Alex Bitto and pitcher Nicole Schmidt were all named First Team All-A.I.I. squad at the A.I.I. Spring Championships banquet.

VICTORIA, Texas – Wednesday morning brought day one of the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament, where the #4-seeded Ashford University softball team opened play against the #5-seeded Lady Generals of Louisiana State University-Alexandria.
Despite pounding out 12 hits, the Saints find themselves in an elimination scenario after day one, falling to the Lady Generals, 4-2.

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – One final road trip was all that stood between the Ashford University softball team and post-season play. On Saturday, the Saints completed their regular season schedule with a pair of games against the Lady Statesmen of William Penn University.
On a day in which offense was at a premium, the Saints dropped game one by a score of 3-1, but came away with a split with 3-2 triumph in game two.

CLINTON – Senior night is always a special one for any student-athlete. Emotions are high not only for the seniors being recognized for their contributions to a team, but for their fellow teammates who want to send those seniors out on a high note.
Friday night, the Ashford University softball team honored their seniors Kara Christensen and Hailey Hall in the best way possible; with a pair of victories.
