CLINTON – Last November, the Ashford University volleyball team came closer than any in program history to securing a bid to the NAIA National Championship. That alone has been more than enough motivation for this year's group of Saints to make 2014 one they hope fans will remember for years to come.

The Saints finished 24-16 last season and didn't drop a set on their way to the 2013 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) conference championship game, where they would fall in four tightly contested sets to Cal State San Marcos.
