KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released its 2013 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards for women's golf on Thursday morning.  Joining the field of 131 student-athletes from across the nation is a trio of Ashford University competitors.

Senior Megan Wagner and juniors Courtney Gieseman and Haley Knutti landed on the annual award list which was released prior to the third day of competition at the 2013 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After inclement weather wiped out opening round play, the Ashford women's golf team took to the course on Saturday, Apr. 20, at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Unaffiliated Grouping Tournament, held at Elbel Golf Course.

The two day event was shortened to just 18 holes after heavy rain saturated the course throughout the week.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Friday's first round action at the NAIA Unaffiliated Grouping Tournament, held at Eibel Golf Course in South Bend, Ind., has been canceled due to unplayable course conditions.  The round will not be made up.

The Ashford University women's golf team will have 18-holes of golf on Saturday to complete its bid to qualify for the 2013 NAIA Women's Golf Championships.  First tee time is slated for 11 a.m.

MARION, Iowa – The Ashford women's golf team headed west over the weekend for the Mt. Mercy Spring Invitational, held at Hunters Ridge Golf Course.  After sitting in fifth place following day one, the Saints improved in the standings on day two to finish in fourth with a two-day score of 736 (367-369).

Junior Courtney Gieseman posted her highest finish of the spring, coming in ninth place overall with a score of 175 (89-86).  She was joined in the top-20 by freshman Chantel Eicher, who placed 19th with a 181 (91-90).

RIVERSIDE, Iowa – As hosts of the weekend's festivities, play concluded for the Ashford golf teams at the Ashford University Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon, Apr. 6, at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course.

The #25-ranked Ashford men came up just short in their quest for a third consecutive win, finishing in second place with a 597 (289-308), two shots behind the top team.  Meanwhile, the AU women finished with a 718 (349-369), good for fifth overall.
