TUCSON, Ariz. – After another complete effort from the offense and pitching staff, the Ashford University softball team closed their spring break trip at the Tucson Invitational Games on a high note.
Thanks to another pair of dominant pitching performances from Nicole Schmidt and Kendra Roth, as well as a combined 22 runs on 27 hits, the Saints finished their spring break with a 12-0 win in five innings over Judson University before downing Viterbo University, 10-2 in the second game.
TUCSON, Ariz. – Thanks to a pair of dominant pitching performances and a veteran continuing her hot streak at the plate, the Ashford University softball team picked up a pair of wins on Thursday at the Tucson Invitational Games.
Sophomore Nicole Schmidt scattered five hits in a complete game 2-1 win over the University of Great Falls (Mont.) in game one. In game two, senior Kendra Roth one-upper her teammate, scattering nine hits in a 4-0 shutout of Michigan-Dearborn.
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Ashford University softball team continued their spring break trip in the desert on Wednesday, taking on Bethel College (Ind.) and Indiana Wesleyan in a mid-day double header.
The Saints saw their two-game winning streak come to an end, dropping the first game to the Pilots, 5-0, before suffering a 10-5 loss to Indiana Wesleyan in game two.
TUCSON, Ariz. – There was no shortage of offense coming from the Ashford University softball team on Monday afternoon as the team combined for 18 runs and 22 hits in a pair of wins at the 2014 Tucson Invitational Games.
Senior Nicole Interrante drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as AU opened the day with a 5-4 win over Northwestern College (Iowa). The Saints carried that momentum over to the second game of the double-header, a 13-3 six-inning thrashing of Arizona Christian University.

Behind a near-perfect pitching performance from sophomore Nicole Schmidt, the Saints came away with a sweep on day one of the games, downing Siena Heights (Mich.) in game one, 2-1, before dropping a 9-7 contest to the University of Great Falls (Mont.) in game two.
