QUINCY, Ill. – The Ashford University men's and women's golf teams hit the links at Spring Lake Country Club on Sept. 7-8 for the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Culver-Stockton College (Mo.).
Both teams would climb up two spots from their day one finish. The Ashford men improved 19 shots to take second place overall with a two-day score of 607 (313-294). Making their fall debut, the Ashford women dropped 43 shots off their score on day two to finish third overall with a 759 (401-358).
GALENA, Ill. – The Ashford University men's golf team teed it up for the first time this fall on Tuesday (Sept. 2) at the Eagle Ridge North Course for the Clarke University Fall Invite.
The Saints sent a pair of teams to compete in the 14-team event. The Ashford "A" team picked up a third place finish overall with a score of 312 while the second group of Saints would finish two shots back of their teammates in a tie for fourth place.
CLINTON – Second year head coach Robert Jan is pleased to announce the signing of five players that will join the Ashford University golf program for the upcoming season.
Clinton's own Josh Bousman joins George Long (Bournemouth, England) and David Krueger (Mundelein, Ill.) as the three newest members of the AU men's team while Andrea Strohmaier (Genoa, Ill.) and Carlie Olson (Aledo, Ill.) will tee it up for the Ashford women starting this fall.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the list of 114 men's golfers that were named as Daktronics Scholar-Athletes. For the second consecutive year, the Saints placed a member on the list of the top student-athletes from around the nation.
CLINTON – Junior men's golfer Ryan Hilton was honored for his work on the course and in the classroom on Thursday afternoon this past year with a nomination to the Capitol One Academic All-District® First Team At-Large All-District 3 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
