MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Monday marked the end of the 2012 season for the Ashford University men's soccer team.

The #14-seeded Saints, in the midst of their second NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship appearance in school history, were defeated by #3-seed Concordia University (Calif.), 4-0, at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex in Montgomery.

CLINTON – After putting seven goals on the board last year against St. Ambrose, the #18-ranked Ashford University men's soccer program looked to put another crooked number up against its rivals this season. AU did just that on Wednesday night.

CLINTON – Saturday's Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) showdown definitely lived up to the hype.

Trailing 1-0 late in the match, Ashford junior forward Lucas Almeida scored two goals in the final seven minutes to push AU over Jamestown College (N.D.) when the two teams at South Campus in Clinton. The victory all but ensures AU's number-one seed for the A.I.I. Men's Soccer Tournament and improves the team to 10-2-3 overall this season.

HASTINGS, Neb. – Fresh off an eight day layoff, the #22-ranked Ashford University men's soccer team returned to action Tuesday night when it visited Lloyd Wilson Field on the campus of Hastings College to battle the #19-ranked Broncos. Junior Lucas Almeida proved to be AU's hero on Tuesday, notching his seventh goal of the 2012 campaign to push AU past its hosts.
