KANSAS CITY, Mo. – An Ashford University senior golfer has landed among the nation's elite.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released its 2013 Men's Golf All-American teams, as selected by the NAIA-Men's Golf Coaches Association All-America Committee, on Monday afternoon. Sabah, Malaysia-native Chien Hau Tan was awarded Second Team All-American status by the committee and joins 44 other student-athletes from around the nation on the prestigious award list.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A pair of Ashford University men's golfers landed among the list of 111 golfers from around the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as the 2013 class of men's golf Daktronics Scholar-Athletes was announced on Thursday.

Seniors Ross Milne and Trent Specht collected the honor, the first members of the AU men's golf program to land on the list since the 2008-09 season.

DESTIN, Fla. – Four members of the Ashford University men's golf team have been honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Seniors Chien Hau Tan, Dan Balgooyen and Trent Specht joined freshman Joar Bjelkholm as members of the NAIA PING All-West Region Team, the announcement was made Tuesday afternoon.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Ashford University men's golf team held steady as the #23-ranked team in the final NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 poll of the regular season. The rankings were released Thursday afternoon.

Ashford wrapped up its season on Monday & Tuesday, Apr. 29-30, when the team took third place at the 2013 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Men's Golf Championships. The Saints posted a three-round team total of 892 (303-289-300), to finish behind the tournament champions, #3-ranked California State University-San Marcos, and #12-ranked University of British Columbia.

VICTORIA, Texas – After sitting in third place after a rain-shortened day one of the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Championships, the Ashford men's golf team took to the links on a hot and humid day for second and third round action.

The #23-ranked Saints would finish in that same spot with a final score of 892 (303-289-300), coming in behind a pair of top-15 teams in #3-ranked California State-San Marcos and #13-ranked British Columbia.

VICTORIA, Texas – The first of three Ashford University athletic programs began play at the 2013 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Championships on Monday, Apr. 29, when the #23-ranked men's golf program opened play at the league championships.

Day one, originally scheduled for 36-holes, was cut short due to weather, but after one round the Saints find themselves in a tie for third place among the eight teams competing at Victoria Country Club. AU shot a team total of 303, to trail #3-ranked California State University-San Marcos by nine strokes.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – With the spring season coming to a close, the Ashford men's golf team turned in what might be their strongest performance in what has been a very successful year.

The #23-ranked Saints brought home their third team title of the year at the Cereal City Shootout on Monday, Apr. 15, winning the one-day tournament with a two-under total of 574 (286-288), besting second place Indiana Tech by 14 shots.

CLINTON – Three days removed from a fifth-place finish at one of the biggest NAIA golf events of the spring season, the Ashford University men's golf team climbed two spots in the latest NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top-25 Poll. The announcement came Friday afternoon.

After dropping to #25 last week, the Saints used the aforementioned fifth-place effort at the NAIA Classic, held Monday & Tuesday, Apr. 8-9, to leap over Mt. Mercy University and Marian University (Ind.) to claim this week's #23 spot.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Playing in their second tournament in a span of five days, the Ashford University men's golf team battled some of the nation's top teams in the NAIA Invitational at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 8-9.

Paced by top-10 finishes from seniors Chien Hau Tan and Trent Specht, the #25-ranked Saints finished the tournament in fifth place with a final score of 603 (299-304). In addition to finishing fifth, the Saints bested four teams ranked ahead of them in the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top-25 Poll.

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Behind Chien Hau Tan's second consecutive medalist performance, the #25-ranked Ashford University men's golf team remains undefeated during the spring portion of the 2012-13 season.

The Saints competed in the Graceland University Invite, held at Mozingo Lake Golf Course, on Friday & Saturday, Mar. 29-30, and won the event by 16 strokes over the second place team from Central College (Iowa). AU compiled a two-day total of 587 (298-289) and placed six individuals inside the top-20 en route to the team's fifth win of the year.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Ashford University men's golf team slipped a spot, to #25, in the latest NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top-25 Poll. The rankings were released Friday afternoon.

The Saints have competed in just one tournament this spring, a weather-shortened victory on Mar. 16 at the University of Illinois-Springfield Invitational hosted in St. Charles, Mo. at the Whitmoor Country Club. Ashford defeated 11 other squads, including some of the top NAIA, NCAA Division II and NJCAA squads from around the Midwest.

CLINTON – Ashford University Head Men's Golf Coach Josh Heiple announced Tuesday morning that the Saints have added a second Canadian newcomer to the team for the 2013-14 athletic year. Ben Thornton, an Innerkip, Ontario-native, has committed to continuing his academic and athletic careers at Ashford University.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Although the opening weekend of the spring for the Ashford men's golf team proved to be a weather-shortened event, the Saints were still able to come home with some hardware.

Paced by senior Chien Hau Tan's third career medalist honor, the #24-ranked Saints took the top spot at the University of Illinois-Springfield Invitational, shooting a team score of 306 to hold off Lindenwood University by five shots.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Ashford University men's golf team will open the spring season as the #24-ranked team in the country.

After landing as the #19-ranked team in the NAIA Men's Golf Preseason Top 25 Coaches' Poll back in early November, the Saints slid to #24 over the winter months but lost just 11 points during that stretch. Ashford collected 126 points during the spring's first poll.

CLINTON – Ashford Head Men's Golf Coach Josh Heiple continued to build towards the future, adding Cambridge, Ontario-native Matt Chiasson as the second member of the 2013-14 signing class.

Chiasson will join Landon Osborne as the newest member of the Saints' men's golf team when he completes his prep career at Galt Collegiate Institute in the spring.
