KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2013 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards for men's and women's tennis Friday morning, May 17. Among the 213 combined student-athletes, a trio of Ashford University tennis players landed among the award lists.

Women's tennis competitor Theresa Stumpf and men's players Jake Dunn and Moises Hernandez were honored by the association, marking the first tennis players to receive Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition since the tennis programs were reinstated as varsity sports at AU.

CLINTON – Tournament pairings for the 2013 NAIA Unaffiliated Men's & Women's Tennis Tournaments were announced on Wednesday.

Ashford University, grouped with members of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and Midwest Collegiate Conference (MCC), will be traveling to Grand Rapids, Mich. this Friday and Saturday, Apr. 26-27, to compete in the event.

FREMONT, Neb. – A day removed from picking up a couple of dominant victories over Doane College, the Ashford University men's and women's tennis teams looked equally impressive on Saturday, Apr. 6, when AU stopped in Fremont, Neb. to battle the Warriors of Midland University.

The Saints wrapped up a perfect 4-0 weekend by collecting a pair of 9-0 victories over their hosts.

CRETE, Neb. – After being idle for a couple of weeks, the Ashford University tennis teams traveled to the Haddix Center Tennis Courts in Nebraska to battle the Tigers of Doane College.

The #26-ranked women swept Doane, 9-0, while the men's team battled to a 7-2 victory over their hosts.

CLINTON – Tennis action was back in high gear Sunday afternoon when the AU tennis teams hosted the Lakers of Roosevelt University inside the Ashford Community Indoor Tennis Center in Clinton.

The Saints overpowered RU and didn't allow the visitors to score a single win on the day as the men and women closed out the weekend with 9-0 victories.

QUINCY, Ill. – Closing out the fall portion of their schedule, the Ashford University tennis teams competed in the Quincy University Combo Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5-6. Four teams, AU, Quincy University, Maryville University and Truman State University competed in the event which was split into individual round-robin tournaments.

AU collected eight tournament championships during the two-day event which was highlighted by five titles on the women's side.

WATERLOO, Iowa – The Ashford University tennis teams got back to action on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16, when they hosted the Ashford University Tennis Invitational at the Black Hawk Tennis Center in Waterloo.

Broken up into 24 different double-elimination tournaments, the event ended with Ashford University winning titles in three tournaments and recording top three finishers in 13 others.

CLINTON, Iowa - After taking more than two weeks off, the Ashford University tennis teams got back to action on Saturday, Mar. 24.

The men's squad welcomed the Regents of Rockford College to the Ashford Indoor Community Tennis Center while the women's team visited Joliet, Ill. to battle the Saints of St. Francis University. Both teams picked up big victories over their respective opponents as the men swept Rockford, 9-0, while the women picked up a 5-4 victory over SFU.

CLINTON, Iowa - Two local tennis players have committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers as Saints.

Camanche, Iowa-natives Brayton Rasche and Jalyn Deering became the first signings of the 2012-13 season for Head Coach Chad Fenwick and the Ashford University tennis teams after the commitments were received Monday morning.
