GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Ashford University golfer Brittany Boon continued action at the 20th Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championships on Wednesday by completing her second round at Link Hills Country Club.

After carding a seven-over par round of 80 during day one, the Bloomington, Ill.-native fell back during the second round by shooting a ten-over 83 to sit in a tie for 86th place among the 144 individuals competing in the event.

CLINTON, Iowa - Competing in the Midwest Collegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the final time, the Ashford University men's track and field squad wanted to make a splash among the eight team field.

They did exactly that over the weekend.

The Saints took second, finishing with 170 points, and set four new AU school records while locking up a pair of bids for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held later this month.

CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford University women's track and field team closed out their run in the Midwest Collegiate Conference over the weekend by hosting the 2012 MCC Outdoor Track and Field Championship at AU's South Campus in Clinton. The Saints scored 139 points as a team to finish third in the eight-squad field.

"This was a great meet for our women's team; the best showing we've ever had at Conference," said Head Coach Chris Adams following the meet. "I was very proud of the way they performed."

CLINTON, Iowa - The Midwest Collegiate Conference announced its 2012 softball all-conference teams on Friday, May 4, prior to the start of the final leg of the MCC postseason tournament.

Among the 38 recognized student-athletes were six members of the Ashford University squad, including one First Team All-MCC selection in junior outfielder Hailey Hall. Five others were named to the All-MCC Honorable Mention team including Rachel Hong, Emily Whetstone, Britnee Dobbs, Kayln Ohlemeyer and Shelby Hobelman. All five just capped off their freshman seasons at Ashford.

CLINTON, Iowa - Head Coach Micah Cewe and the Ashford University volleyball team announced Wednesday that they have received two more signings for the upcoming 2012 season. Nechelle Veal, a Calumet City, Ill.-native and Caitlin Foran, of Gilbert, Ariz., have committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers at Ashford University.

Wednesday's announcement brings the total number of newcomers to 12 for the upcoming fall season.
