2009 (Junior): Became
just the third runner in school history to qualify for the NAIA National
Championships (Mount St. Clare's Andrew Grodecki - 1998, 2001/Chett Ray - 2001)
with a top-five performance at the MCC Championship in Oskaloosa...His time of
26:54 was a personal record in the 8k and was the school's third-fastest
recorded time...Earned a top-10 finish at the Lacey Sports Complex for the
William Penn Invitational, clocking with 27:46...At the time, it was the
program's fifth-best time in school history...Opened his junior season by
finishing in the top half of the field at the Augustana Early Opener in Rock
Island, Ill...Led the Saints with a team-best 26th-place effort at the
Yellowjacket Invitational hosted by Graceland University.
2008 (Sophomore): Competed as a member of the AU cross country
and track and field squads.
2007 (Freshman): Competed as a member of the AU cross country and
track and field squads.
Prior to Ashford: Four-time First Team All-Conference selection
while at Annawan High School…Member of a three-time Illinois state-qualifying
4x400 relay team…Owns a personal records in the mile at 4:30.00, the 400-meter
run in 49.8 seconds and the 800-meter run in 1:57.00…Coached by Creston Fenn.
Personal: Born Andrew Scott Drinkall on April 27, 1988…Son of
Craig and Michelle Drinkall…Has two older brothers, Nick and Josh…Enjoys
fishing, hunting and biking…Chose Ashford over Western Illinois University.
