Ashford Women's
Basketball/Men's Golf Head Coach Chris Powers graduated from then-Mount St.
Clare College in 1997 and left as a decorated two-sport athlete, earning
numerous accolades in baseball and basketball. He prepares to enter his fifth
year as Head Coach of the Saints women's hoops program this fall. In basketball, he was a
three-year captain and team MVP while earning all-conference recognition. He is
the school's single-season and career assist leader and scored more than 1,200
points in his career.
On the baseball diamond, he
was the team's Most Valuable Player and earned all-conference recognition as a
pitcher. He was the recipient of the school's Athlete of the Year award three
times (1994-1996).
After graduation, Powers began
his coaching career at Mount St. Clare College as an assistant men's basketball
coach and head men's golf coach. The 1998-1999 basketball squad was ranked as
high as 15th in the country and won the conference.
After two years at MSC,
Powers made the transition to women's basketball. He was an assistant coach at
St. Ambrose University for two years, making it to the Elite Eight of the NAIA
National Tournament in 1999-2000 before moving on to Loras College (2001-2003)
as an assistant coach and was part of the first conference championship and
national tournament berth in Loras' history.
Prior to his current job,
Powers was an assistant boys' basketball coach at MorrisonHigh School.
He is a Clinton, Iowa,
native and graduated from ClintonHigh School in 1992.
During his senior year, he was the point guard of the Iowa High School Class 4A
State Championship basketball team.
Powers is married to his wife,
Stacy, and they currently reside in Camanche,
Iowa.

Jordan Wilde - Graduate Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Wilde joins
the Saints' athletics staff in his first year as a graduate assistant women's
basketball coach by way of the Northwest where she played collegiately at WesternOregonUniversity and GeorgeFoxUniversity. She will assist Ashford Head
Coach Chris Powers in all facets of the women's basketball program for the
upcoming season.
Wilde is a
2008 graduate from Div. II Western Oregon University in Monmouth where she
obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Legal Studies.
In her lone season on the Wolves' basketball team (2006-07), Wilde started 11
contests, averaging 2.8 points per game.
Wilde
transferred from Div.IIIGeorgeFoxUniversity
in Newberg, Ore., in 2006 after helping advance the
Bruins to the Elite Eight in the 2005 NCAA Div. III National Tournament. In
2004-05, she played in 21 games as a freshman, averaging just under seven
minutes per game. As a sophomore, Wilde appeared in 23 contests.
Wilde also
brings in experience as a basketball coach at RedmondHigh School and CentralHigh School in Independence, Ore.,
where she worked with players on basic skills and techniques. At Central, she
assisted both the junior varsity and varsity squads.
Wilde
lettered in volleyball and basketball at SnohomishHigh School
while competing on several AAU teams that included the Seattle Magic, Northwest
Heat and Puget Sound Flight.
Wilde
graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree and a minor in Legal Studies in 2008
from WesternOregonUniversity.
She currently resides in Snohomish,
Wash.
