CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford University women's basketball program announced a signing from the Lone Star State as Jennifer Forge of San Antonio, Texas, pledged her commitment in recent history.

Forge rounds out the first recruiting class for AU Head Coach Amy Eagan. She completed her prep career while at Stevens High School and is the second student-athlete to enroll this fall from Texas, joining volleyball's McKenzie Thompson of Plano.

"Jennifer is a quality person, student and athlete," Eagan said. "We are very excited to have Jennifer joining our Ashford family. She sets a great example of the student-athletes we want to represent our program."

Forge capped her career at Stevens with Second-Team All-District accolades. Included in her senior year was a trip to the Texas state playoffs and a runner-up team performance at the Corpus Christi Mira's Tournament.

Forge aided Stevens to another state playoff berth as a junior and helped her squad to a first-place hardware at the SAISD Tournament. As a sophomore, she was instrumental in getting Stevens to the third round of the Texas state playoffs.

Forge, the daughter of Nick and Eloise Forge, is beginning her studies in Health Science Administration while at Ashford. She chose Ashford over the University of North Texas and Stephen F. Austin University.
