CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford University men's tennis program and Head Coach Chad Fenwick gained the first commitment for their new season in 2010, gaining the commitment of Jacob Dunn of Cody, Wyo.
Dunn becomes the first men's recruit to commit to the Saints' tennis program since Ashford announced they would be bringing back men's and women's tennis programs beginning this fall.
"I am very excited to have Jake join our program because he is exactly the type of student-athlete I want to have at Ashford," said Fenwick. "He is very strong academically and is eager to learn and develop as an athlete. I am very excited about his potential and look forward to great things from him over the next four years."
As a sophomore at Cody High School, Dunn began his accomplished career by becoming the Wyoming State Junior Varsity Tournament Doubles Champion. The following season, Dunn was named the CHS Rookie of the Year after earning a third place finish in the Bronc's conference as the team's number two doubles player.
As a senior, Dunn was named the Most Valuable Player of CHS after placing seventh at the Wyoming state tournament as the number one player on his squad.
The son of Steve and Diane, Dunn is a prospective Business Administration major when he arrives to campus. He chose Ashford over New Mexico Tech and Guilford College.
