CLINTON, Iowa - With two athletes already locked in from the junior college talent pool, the Ashford University women's basketball program continued a busy month of July, gaining the commitment of Indian Hills Community College product Anna Kuckelman of Keokuk and Kishwaukee College's Schae Maxwell of Stillman Valley, Ill.

Kuckelman and Maxwell become the fifth and sixth recruits, respectively, that have committed to playing for the Saints next season.

"We are excited to have Anna and Schae joining our program," said AU Head Coach Amy Eagan. "Both of these girls will bring maturity to this team that is going to be needed throughout this year and years to come. Both Anna and Schae are hard-nosed kids that are going to do whatever they can to make themselves and this program better."

Prior to attending Indian Hills, Kuckelman was a standout dual-sport athlete at Keokuk High School. An honor roll student through her entire career as a Chief, Kuckelman helped KHS to undefeated Southeast Conference records during her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons. Kuckelman also helped the Chiefs qualify for the Iowa state basketball tournament during her sophomore and senior year.

Also an established track athlete, Kuckelman was a state qualifier in the discus throw during her freshman year and still holds school records in both the shot put (35'6") and in the discus (119').

The daughter of Kevin and Jeanne, Kuckelman is a prospective Elementary Education major when she arrives to campus and enjoys photography when she isn't on the courts.

A former standout at Stillman Valley High School, Maxwell has spent the past two years as Kishwaukee College, where she was named a member of the Arrowhead Academic All-Conference team as a freshman.

The daughter of Tom and Laura Maxwell, Maxwell has three other siblings and enjoys spending time with her family and friends and camping when she isn't on the courts. A prospective Criminal Justice major when arrives to campus, Maxwell chose Ashford over the University of Manitoba and Bellarmine University.
