CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford University women's basketball team added another recruit to next season's roster earlier this month, signing Kirkwood Community College transfer Passion McClain of Madison, Wis.
McClain is the third recruit committed to the women's basketball program for next season, joining Courtney Olson of Amboy, Ill., and Jena Peterson of Woodhull, Ill.
"We are very excited to have Passion joining our team," said AU Head Coach Amy Eagan. "Her athleticism, rebounding ability, and overall presence around the basket should make an immediate impact within our program."
Before spending one semester at Kirkwood Community College, McClain put together a stellar prep career at Madison East High School in Madison. McClain earned Second-Team All-City accolades and her team's Defensive Award after she averaged six points, nine rebounds, and four blocks as a Purgolder.
McClain also holds the Madison East track and field record in the high jump.
The daughter of LaKeisha and Pierra Badgie, McClain enjoys modeling, cooking, and designing when she isn't on the courts, and chose Ashford over Milwaukee Area Technical College.
