CLINTON, Iowa - Both the Ashford University track and field and cross country teams received a dual boost in recent recruiting history, announcing the commitment of Thomas Hansen of Hometown, Ill.
His hometown of Hometown might sound familiar because it's
the same city of residence for Saints' indoor NAIA national qualifying thrower
Spencer Touchie. Touchie and Hansen were teammates at Oak Lawn Community High
School.
Hansen will run cross country and provide a boost to the Saints middle-distance unit on the track and field squad while at Ashford.
Hansen was a cross country Illinois state qualifier after being crowned regional champion and was named his team's MVP at Oak Lawn. In track, Hansen bettered league competition and went on to become a conference champion in the mile.
Hansen, the son of Patricia Hansen, is looking at pursuing a degree in Computer Animation and Graphic Design when he begins class this fall.
