CLINTON, Iowa - Head Coach Tyson Graham and the Ashford University women's cross country team added another member to next fall's squad earlier this month with the signing of Caitlin Kuehn of Durant.
"Caitlin will play an important role on our women's cross country team as we continue to develop and grow as a program," said AU head coach Tyson Graham. "She will compete for the number one spot on our roster and I'm confident Caitlin will be in our top five because she shows strength, passion and dedication, enough for distances further than a 5K."
Tutored by a multitude of coaches, Kuehn enjoyed an outstanding prep career at Durant High School, running the Iowa state cross country meet three times as a Wildcat. Kuehn was also a state qualifier on the track in the 3,000-meter run during her freshman year.
Off the track, Kuehn earned Academic All-Conference honors from the Cedar Valley Conference during her junior and senior seasons, and enjoys showing quarter horses, Angus cattle, and playing the trumpet.
Kuehn, the daughter of Rick and Julie Kuehn, chose Ashford over Iowa State University and plans to major in Biology when she arrives to campus.
