Senior Alisha Parker pitched a four-hit complete game shutout in the Saints' 11-0 shutout win

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Senior Alisha Parker of Camanche twirled together a four-hit, complete-game gem to lead the Ashford University softball team to another win at the Rebel Games, this time over Framingham State in an 11-0 blanking.

Sophomores Katlyn Akers of Orion, Ill., and Lindsey Thornton of Clinton each delivered two-run pinch-hit singles while senior Jessie Rosenow of Erie, Ill., added a pair of hits and stole two bases.

The Saints (4-3 overall) pounded out 11 runs on just 12 hits and made quick work of the Rams, ending the game in just five innings. It marked the team's third win of the year, adding to triumphs in the Sunshine State already compiled over Centenary College and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Parker (1-0) allowed just four hits to go the distance on the mound, walking three and retired three batters on strikes.

Parker worked out of early bases-loaded trouble in the first inning with just one out after yielding a leadoff double. She induced an infield pop-up and a pop-up in foul territory to escape the jam.

After giving up two hits in the first inning, Parker was on cruise control. The Saints added four more insurance runs in the top half of the fifth, highlighted by Akers and Thornton's two-run singles.

Ashford exploded for a seven-run first inning beginning with an RBI single off the bat of junior transfer Kendra Roth of Salem, S.D. The Saints took advantage of shaky defense by Framingham State, advancing further on the basepaths due to three passed balls.

Senior Nichole Salazar of Minooka, Ill., plated two more runs in the first inning with a single up the middle while Rosenow and senior Kimberly Samples of Bolingbrook, Ill., also contributed RBI hits, respectively.

FSC's Alysia Morrissette was tagged with the loss despite the complete game. Eight of the 11 runs she allowed were charged as earned while walking four and striking out four.
