CLINTON, Iowa - The restructured Ashford University track and field program underwent another change earlier this week, bringing on Audra Adams as a part-time assistant coach effective immediately.

Adams, the university's Employee Relations Representative, is the wife of Saints' track and field Head Coach Chris Adams and will be focusing with the sprints squad. She now joins assistants Tyson Graham and Sheena James and her husband as members of the AU coaching staff.

"There is no question that there is an immediate level of trust associated with this hire," Chris Adams said. "Audra has experienced success at every level in the sport and I don't see any reason for that not to continue. She full understands what we're trying to build here at Ashford and she can help us attain those goals."

Adams graduated from Western Illinois University and is a former Central DeWitt Saber. At the collegiate level, she won back-to-back conference titles in the 100-meter dash and also set the conference record in the event while competing for the Leathernecks.

In 2008, Adams was inducted into the IGHSAU Track and Field Hall of Fame for her nine state championships in the sprint events (five individual, four relay) and her key role in the Sabers' team championship in 2002.
