DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Ashford University volleyball team (21-17 overall wrapped up the regular season on Monday by putting up some staggering offensive numbers in a losing effort against Clarke College, 3-2, in the Kehl Center.

The Saints will now head into the postseason and the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament as a probable No. 4 seed after tonight's loss. AU wrapped up MCC play at 4-4.

The Crusaders picked up their first league win at the expense of the Saints with scores of 18-25, 26-24, 25-19, 17-25 and 15-11, ending a seven-match drought in MCC action.

Ashford picked up wins in the first and fourth frames before dropping the decisive fifth set, 15-11.

Junior Allison Uceda of Lima, Peru, had another double-double with a team-high 17 kills with 11 digs. Freshman Sarah Wenzel of Clinton, coming off a career-high 13 kills against Mt. Mercy College, netted her first career double-double with 11 digs.

Junior 1,000 kill club member and middle hitter Kelsay McCausland of Camanche contributed 13 kills and continued to lead the MCC in service aces, adding five more against Clarke.

Junior Tara Van Zuiden of Albany, Ill., dug out 16 balls and plenty of help with four other defensive specialists with double-digit dig totals.

Freshman setter Liz Gbur of Darien, Ill., had 36 assists to go along with 12 digs, and junior Samantha Moller of Silvis, Ill., also had 12.
