CLINTON, Iowa - Ashford University track and field Head Coach Tyson Graham was pleased to announce another signee in his 2009 recruiting class, Mason City, Iowa, native Ashley Murray.

Murray joins Ashford after a four-year career at Mason City as a member of the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams. She was a team captain as a senior and also participated in cross country.

"We are excited to have someone with Ashley's character on the team," Graham said. "While she is successful on the track, I believe she is capable of being a great leader."

Murray becomes the fourth signee on the women's side in 2009, joining other new Saints' acquisitions, Clinton's Sarah Wenzel and Byron, Ill., native Heather Ketcham and Ashley Voeltz of Fenton, Ill.

She is the daughter of Scott and Rhonda Murray and is planning on majoring in exercise science.
