DAVENPORT, Iowa - NAIA national qualifier Jordan Davis (80-73--153) of Delmar won her third title of the fall by a staggering seven-stroke margin and the Ashford University women's golf team set a new 18-hole scoring record at the two-day St. Ambrose Classic.

The Saints fired a team score of 342 on a rainy Sunday at Emeis Golf Course to finish third out of 12 participating schools, breaking the round and previous school record of 374 carded just last Friday at the Iowa Wesleyan Invitational.

Ashford fired a 347 in first-round play when the tournament was held at Glynn's Creek Golf Course on Saturday.

"Our scores keep getting lower and lower and it's an exciting time for our team," AU Head Coach Josh Davis said. "The freshmen competed in their first two-day event and they've been coming through. We finished third in a really good field and I'm very proud of the team."

Davis, a junior, captured medalist honors for the third time in four events this fall, wrapping up today's action with an impressive 1-over-par 73.

The defending Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the Week and reigning conference champion has reeled off medalist honors in the Augustana Fall Invitational, Iowa Wesleyan Invitational and now the St. Ambrose Fall Invitational.

"I can't say it enough times, but Jordan is just consistent and minimizes her mistakes," Josh Davis said. "If she's going for a bogey, it doesn't turn into a double bogey. She just does a great job of managing shot after shot."

Davis reported that sophomore Brittany Boon of Bloomington, Ill., finished in third.
