Junior NAIA National Qualifier Jordan Davis won her fourth career tournament on Friday
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Reigning Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Golfer of the Week Jordan Davis (77) of Delmar won her fourth career tournament and the Saints made a new entry in the school record books with a collective score of 347 (+59) at the Iowa Wesleyan Invitational on Friday.

The Saints continued to make big strides under the guidance of AU Head Coach Josh Davis this fall, breaking the one-year standing team record of a 350 (+62) fired at last year's Loras Invitational.

Davis, a junior, captured medalist honors at to help put Ashford second in a six-team field that featured conference schools in St. Ambrose University and host Iowa Wesleyan.

St. Ambrose edged out AU for the team title by just six strokes.

"I'm really proud of the team and we played really well again on a course that is fairly new to us," Josh Davis said. "I thought coming in, shooting 350 at each tournament is a good goal and we came out today to beat the school record by three strokes. Everybody is contributing and progressing right along."

Davis completed the front nine at Muscatine Municipal Golf Course with a 1-over-par 37. She ended up with a 40 on the back nine and AU's lone NAIA National Championship qualifier continued her stellar fall play. She won medalist honors at the Augustana College Invitational earlier this year (Sept. 10).

"Jordan keeps plugging along," commented Josh Davis. "Her game is so steady because she doesn't try to do too much. She just doesn't make mistakes."

Sophomore Brittany Boon of Bloomington, Ill., contributed an 85 to take finish in solo sixth.

Freshmen Megan Wagner (91) of Preston and Ashley Crawford (94) of Rockford, Ill., pulled in with career-low rounds and Alanna Harris (103) of Bloomington-Normal, Ill. could have had a personal-best round if it wasn't for a problematic final hole.

The Saints are back in action tomorrow morning at the St. Ambrose Invitational at Glynn's Creek Golf Course in Eldridge. Expected to be present is the University of St. Francis, who Ashford edged out by one stroke today for runner-up placement.
