CLINTON, Iowa – Head Coach Chris Adams and the Ashford University women's track and field team announced its first newcomer for the 2012 season on Tuesday.  Justinn Trevino, a La Grulla, Texas-native, has committed to continuing her academic and athletic careers as a Saint.

Trevino comes to AU after wrapping up a very successful hurdling career at Grulla High School this past spring.  For her career, Trevino earned three district championships while qualifying for the regional meet on nine different occasions including three appearances at the Texas Class 3A Region 4 meet held this past April in Corpus Christi.

She is a two-time district champion in the 100-meter hurdles and appeared at the regional meet on three occasions in the 300-meter hurdles and with GHS's 4x100-meter relay team.

Trevino is the daughter of Radalberto and Josie Trevino and plans to study biology when she steps on campus this fall.  She was coached in high school by Sabrina Duberney.
