CLINTON, Iowa -Head Women's Basketball Coach Amy Eagan and the Ashford University women's basketball team announced on Thursday that Elizabeth Nardi has committed to continuing her academic and athletic careers at AU.

Nardi, a 6'1'' forward from De Pere, Wis., just recently closed the book on her senior year at De Pere High School where she helped the Redbirds to a 24-4 overall record while capturing the 2012 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division I State Championship. The state title was the third in school history and marked the second time in the last three seasons that DHS appeared in the championship tilt.

In addition, De Pere went 15-1 en route to collecting the Fox Valley Classic Conference Championship while Nardi averaged 3.6 points per game in her role as a primary reserve for the squad.

"We are extremely excited to have Liz joining our Ashford women's basketball family," said Eagan.  "Liz comes from an outstanding high school program and understands what it takes and means to be a champion. Her character, athleticism, and size will bring immediate impacts to our program. Liz has a huge upside to her and I look forward to coaching and developing her the next four years."

Thursday's announcement marks the eighth new face committed to the team for this upcoming fall.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Jeff & JoAnn Bartolameolli and Vince & Stephanie Nardi and remains undecided on a major. She was coached in high school by Kelly McNiff.
