
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Ashford University golfer Brittany Boon continued action at the 20th Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championships on Wednesday by completing her second round at Link Hills Country Club.
After carding a seven-over par round of 80 during day one, the Bloomington, Ill.-native fell back during the second round by shooting a ten-over 83 to sit in a tie for 86th place among the 144 individuals competing in the event.
Nikki Stewart, a Savannah College of Art and Design representative, holds a one-shot lead in the tournament after shooting the second lowest round among all individuals, 69, on Wednesday. Oklahoma City University golfer Jessica Schiele fired a 68, bringing home the lowest score of the round to move her to third individually.
In the team race, the top four schools are currently all separated by just one stroke. The Thunderbirds of the University of British Columbia lead with a total two-day score of 604, one stroke better than Savannah College of Art and Design. Shorter University, William Woods University and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) round out the top five.
Boon returns to action on Thursday when she tees it up
from the tenth tee at 7:58 a.m. central time.
