CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford men's bowling team has added two more members to the 2012-13 roster with the signings of Jonathan Melton and Austin Pruett.

Melton, a Rockford, Ill.-native and Pruett, who hails from Camanche, Iowa, join Kody Dexheimer as the newest members of Head Coach Brian Swanson's club.

Melton will don the purple and gold after finishing his senior year at Rockford Christian High School. He is coming off an eighth place finish at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boys Bowling Tournament during his senior season, compiling a 220 average along the way.

Prior to his finish at the state meet, the new Saint took top honors at the Freeport Sectional tournament by knocking over 1446 pins, qualifying him for the state meet as an individual.

However, his best statistical season came in his junior year, when he held a 228 average and was a top-16 winner.

Jonathan, the son of Stan and Mary Melton, will major in business administration when he arrives at Ashford.

Pruett comes to Ashford after wrapping up a successful career at nearby Camanche High School, capping his senior season with a 14th place finish at the Class 1A state tournament. In addition to his high individual finish, he helped lead Camanche to a sixth-place team finish.

As a junior, James recorded his best season at Camanche, finishing in eighth place at the state tournament and leading his team to a fifth place finish as well.

For his accomplishments on the lanes, Pruett was named to the Quad City Times' All-Metro First Team his junior year before picking up a Honorable Mention Team selection as a senior.

The son of Thomas Pruett and Jennifer Brunssen, Austin plans on majoring in accounting at Ashford.
