CLINTON, Iowa - Head Coach Brian Swanson added a second new face to the 2012-13 Ashford University women's bowling team on Thursday.

Allison Knox, a native of Belvidere, Ill., has committed to continuing her academic and athletic careers at AU. She joins Plainfield, Ill's Jessalyn Andelbradt as a pair of new faces to the team starting next fall.

Knox, a current senior at Belvidere North High School, was a four-year varsity bowler for the Blue Thunder and recorded a third-place individual finish at the Northern Illinois Conference (NIC-10) girls' bowling tournament this past January. She also served as the team's co-captain while being named the squad's most valuable player by her teammates.

Belvidere North finished sixth of the 19 teams competing at the Illinois High School Association's Oregon Sectional Tournament.

As the junior, the newest member of the Ashford women's bowling team was also named her team's most valuable bowler while finishing 18th at the NIC-10 meet, just missing her previous best finish of 16th place during her freshman season. As a sophomore, Knox rolled a perfect 300 game.

Allison is the daughter of Jeff and Sharon Knox and plans to study accounting when she enrolls at Ashford. She was coached in high school by Neil Scherbarth.
