CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford University men's and women's bowling team will each have an Andelbradt on the squad starting next season.
Head Coach Brian Swanson and the AU women's team announced that Jessalyn Andelbradt has committed to continuing her academic and athletic careers at Ashford. The addition marks the first new face committed to the youthful team for the upcoming 2012-13 school year.
Andelbradt, a native of Plainfield, Ill., will join her brother Brandyn at Ashford once she completes her senior year at Plainfield South High School. The younger sibling is a four-year varsity bowler for the Cougars and helped the squad make back-to-back appearances as a team at the IHSA Girls State Bowling Meet during her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Plainfield South earned a fourth-place finish at the state meet during her freshman season while Andelbradt averaged a 191.1 throughout the event. Most recently, Andelbradt fired a 987 last month at the Plainfield South sectional tournament as the Cougars finished eighth among the 18 teams competing.
Jessalyn is the daughter of James Andelbradt and Kim Ortiz and plans to study business management when she enrolls at Ashford University.
