CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford women's basketball team and Head Coach Amy Eagan are proud to announce the signing of Iowa City West's Griffin Reed as the newest member of the 2012-13 signing class.

Reed, a Washington, Iowa native, is the fourth member of next year's signing class, joining Erica Withey, Clare Gloede and Brittany Wilson as the newest members of the Saints' basketball family.

Reed is a member of the Iowa City West squad that is ranked first in the state, appearing in 13 games while averaging 3.7 points per game. Reed has connected on 39.5% of her shots from the floor, which includes shooting 39% from behind the three-point line.

Reed was also a member of the Iowa City West team that finished as the state runners-up during her junior season, averaging 2.3 points per game.

"We are extremely excited to have Griffin as a part of our women's basketball family," Eagan said. "She is an outstanding, high character, young lady with a big upside to her. She comes from a winning program and understands what it takes to win championships. Griffin is a competitor that will work to earn playing time in our guard position."

Griffin is the daughter of Darlene and Nick Reed and is coached at ICW by BJ Mayer.
