CLINTON, Iowa - The Ashford softball team and Head Coach Kevin Jannusch are pleased to announce the signings of two more players to the 2012 signing class.

Outfielder Allie Klasen (Tucson, Ariz./Canyon del Oro) and shortstop Heidi Riley (Billings, Mont./Skyview) and are the two newest members of the Saints' softball family, set to join the team this coming fall.

"Both Heidi and Allie provide us athleticism and versatility to our offense," Jannusch said. "We are very excited to be able to add quality softball talent as well as great people to our team as we push towards playing at a championship level."

Klasen will join the Saints after completing an accomplished career playing for the Arizona Force club team, guided by Arizona alum Autumn Champion. Klasen is also a member of her high school track team that is coming off a state championship in 2011 and a state runner-up in 2010.

Klasen is the daughter of John and Lori Klasen. She has yet to decide on a major.

"Allie is a very fast player. Her ability to get around the bases in a hurry will help our offensive attack. We are excited that she has play-making ability and can make thing happen with her legs."

Riley has accumulated 44 doubles in her first three seasons at Skyview, three doubles away from setting the Montana State prep doubles record.

Riley has also been named to the All-State team in 2010, Academic All-State team in 2009, and her All-Conference team from 2009-11. In addition, Riley was named her high school's MVP and batting champion in 2010 and Infielder of the Year in 2011.

Riley is the daughter of Patrick and Leona Riley and has not decided on a major.

"Heidi can definitely make an impact in our lineup right off the bat," Jannusch added. "Her athleticism is off the charts. She jumps like a cheetah and has very good range laterally. We were just amazed at some of the plays we watched her make. Defensively, she is game-ready for our level."

Riley and Klasen become the seventh and eighth members set to join Ashford in the fall of 2012.
