DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Ashford University women's cross country team wrapped up the 2011 season with a fifth place finish at the MCC Championships.

"We are extremely proud of how our Women's team did today," Saints Head Coach Tyson Graham said."I feel for the most part every young lady ran her best today. We had a few people with sickness and minor injuries but they ran through them and definitely gave a 100 percent effort. These women have worked very hard and I am extremely proud of them."

Freshman Emily Paull capped off a stellar season, finishing in 11th place with a time of 20:29 in the 5K race. Paull was named to the Honorable Mention All-MCC team after the meet.

Freshman Angela Wollbright was the only other Saint to finish in the top-20, finishing in 18th after running a time of 21:04.

Junior Raven Ruger (32nd/22:07), freshman Soryia Sabir (35th/22:16), juniors Kemi Okwumabua (38th/22:36) and Samantha Young (39th/22:40) and sophomore Annie Chezem (40th/23:37) rounded out the times for the Saints.

St. Ambrose senior Obsie Birru took home the top individual honor with a time of 18:00. Top team honors went to Grand View, who edged out Viterbo with 41 points.
