DEWITT, Iowa - The Ashford University women's golf team took home the top spot in Tuesday's Shootout at Springbrook meet at Springbrook C.C.
The one-day meet saw the Saints fire a team total of 351, beating second place North Iowa Area CC by 43 strokes. Iowa Wesleyan rounded out the scoring with a 431.
The Saints were led by senior Brittany Boon, who took the top individual spot with a score of 84 (40-44), winning by two strokes.
Senior Felicia Scott finished three shots behind Boon after carding an 87 (47-40). Sophomore Haley Knutti placed fourth among individuals after firing an 88 (48-40) on the day.
Sophomore Courtney Gieseman (47-45) and junior Megan Wagner (46-46) finished in a tie for sixth after they each carded a 92.
Junior Alanna Harris (49-51) and freshman Katelyn Gille (52-48) finished in a tie for 10th after shooting a 100 to round out the scoring for the Saints.
The Saints will look to build off of the win in their next meet, when they host the Ashford University Invitational on Monday, Oct. 17 at Short Hills C.C. in East Moline, Ill.
